What’s the project’s current status?

The Marri Wind Farm is currently in the development stage.

We're excited to start talking to the wider community. We’ll commence consultation with the community and key stakeholders, engaging with landowners and neighbours along the potential Marri Wind Farm transmission routes

If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to contact us.

In 2025 we'll be:

  • Collecting wind data
  • Undertaking environmental studies like bird surveys
  • Talking with neighbours, potential transmission line hosts and the community about the project
  • Submitting our approval documents for government to assess

Community and benefit sharing

We’re committed to making a positive impact in communities by teaming up with local programs that create social, economic, employment, educational, and environmental opportunities and outcomes. Designing our benefit sharing approach is all about listening to the community to ensure we meet local needs. This could include grants, sponsorships, or opportunities for education and skills development.

During the project's development phase, we’ll have community grant funding available. We’ll be promoting the program on our website, social media, in local papers and via community noticeboards.

Marri Wind Farm — how was this site selected?

We know the project will have an excellent wind resource because it's located in the region of our existing Yandin Wind Farm, a RATCH-Australia and Alinta Energy investment, managed by Alinta Energy.

Yandin Wind Farm regularly tops the list of high performing wind farms in the country, so we’re hoping to build on its success and make an even larger contribution to WA’s energy transition.
